The Walking Dead Book 1

I just finished book one of the Walking Dead comic book series this last week.
It was great!
It starts off with rick waking up alone in a hospital full of zombies. He then meets Morgan and Duanne and he provides them with guns and a police cruiser. Rick heads for Atlanta hoping to find his family. He discovers that Atlanta is now a city of the undead and is almost trapped but Glen, a survivor, rescues him and takes him to the survivor camp where he finds his wife, Lori, and son, Carl. They live in the camp for quite some time until Shane, Rick's best friend and Lori's lover when they though rick was dead, Snaps and tries to shoot Rick so everything will go back to normal. Carl sees what is happening and shoots Shane first. It is soon after that they all decide to try and find a more protected place to live and Lori tells Rick she is pregnant, it is believed that the baby might actually be Shane's because they had a one night affair on the way to Atlanta.

They all pile into the motor home and find Wilshire estates, a gated community. They believe that it is safe but after the first night they find it is completely infested with the undead and they have to abandon the food and housing they found there. It is after this catastrophe that Rick, Tyrese, and Carl go hunting to look for food in the woods. Carl is shot by a hunter from a nearby farm and Rick takes him to the farmer who is also a vet in hopes that he can help. Carl recovers and the group stay at the farm until the owner, Hershel, loses his sons to zombies and forces them to leave. The group is once again wandering in search of a new home, which is when they come across the prison.  This is where the first book ends.

Christmas and Stuff!

Sorry I haven't been blogging lately christmas has been busy!
The whole family is in Lake Havasu City, AZ for our christmas break.
Everyone loved their Christmas gifts! I got a Hermione wand flashlight from harry potter that turns on when you wave it. It is quite amazing haha. I also have been reading the walking dead comic books. They are really good! The show is following the comic books pretty closely. There aren't too many differences between them so far, That I have found at least.
On Christmas Day we went for a hike in Sarah Park. It was really nice out and the park was beautiful. we couldn't get all the way down to the lake because the canyon had flooded.
Then we went for supper at Grandma Green's. The food was awesome like always and we played cards with all of our cousins. They taught us a new game called nert. It's fun. It is kind of like playing four games of solitaire at once against other teams.
Yesterday we drove to Vegas and went shopping for Megan's Grad Dress. We found one and it is beautiful. It is black and flows and completely Megan.
Here are some random pictures of the trip so far!

Walking Dead -- Vatos

Yesterday's episode of the walking dead was probably the most exciting and sad episode of the season so far.
Glenn, Rick, Daryl, and T Dog go back to Atlanta to find Merl, Daryl's Brother, who was left handcuffed to a roof in Atlanta. All they find is his hand.

It is after this that they decide to get the Guns from the street. Glen comes up with a plan. He gets the guns from the street but when he makes it back to the ally he and Daryl are ambushed by a group of men who fail to take the guns from them but kidnap glen instead.
Rick, Daryl and T dog also capture one of their men and use him to find out where they have taken Glen.  They try for a hostage trade but the group want their guns. It looked as if it was going to have to be an all out gun fight with only one group left standing when an elderly lady intervenes and saves the day.
She leads them to Glen. Turns out that the latin group is actually running an old folks home. They are protecting the residents and providing their medical care. Rick gives them some of their guns and they walk out safe and sound only to find their van has been stolen (they suspect Merl) and they have to walk back to camp.
As they near camp they hear screams. The camp is under attack by a horde of zombies. Both Amy and Ed are dead.

The Walking Dead --Tell It To The Frogs

So I finally got to watch the new Walking Dead Episode this morning. It was pretty good. I find it maybe a little bit predictable but still entertaining.  I am very curious about what happened to Merl. You can't survive too long bleeding that much. I can't believe he had the guts to cut off his own hand! Pretty sick.

The other catch at the end of this episode is the affair that Shane and Lori had while they thought Rick was dead. So how is Rick going to react when he finds out?
I will bet any money that Lori ends up being pregnant and either she won't know who the father is or it will be Shane's.

I am still really impressed with the quality of the zombies in this show. They really do a good job at making them look realistic or as realistic as you can make a fictional character.

If your interested in learning more about the show and the comics the show is based on go to this link below, but be forwarned it does outline the plot of the comics and if the show stays true to them they will be spoilers!

The Walking Dead --Tell It To The Frogs

Can't wait to watch the next episode of The Walking Dead (episode 3) Tell It To The Frogs!
I am curious to see how the sheriff reacts when he finds out his wife has been sleeping with his best friend the whole time he has been gone. I know I wouldn't be happy!
